Storyboards / Production Boards, Sign Design & Fabrication, Publishing Copy-Edit, Technical Writing, Computer Graphics and Art Work, Scanning and Photograph Editing, Minor Renovations & Repair (the handyman stuff if I'm qualified to do it...).

Several years of freelancing for low budget & independent film projects makes quoting difficult; as it depends on the production budget and the often very short time-to-camera deadlines. Day rates can start around $150.00.

Hourly billing at $25.00 on a "quality time" basis (I don't charge for the learning curve if I'm doing something new). All prices in Canadian funds. Minumum billing $ 25.00 (equivalent to 1 hour labour).

Deadlines for storyboards are awkward to negotiate as I have to keep 2 day jobs (Film Set Dresser and Hospital Employee). It does give me flexibility during the evenings - so I freelance in 4 hour blocks depending on other obligations.

An example: 10 minute "shorts" or 10 minute action/CG sequences would typically take me 3 days.

E-mailing proofs (PDF documents) is a nice progress indicator for guidance/feedack/corrections.
